Desenzano sits at the south-western tip of Lake Garda in the province of Brescia. It is the lake's largest town — and its best-connected one: the railway station is the only high-speed stop on the entire lake.
The town's location is ideal for the Milan–Venice–Verona triangle. The A4 motorway exit Desenzano is less than 3 km from the centre. From the harbour, Navigazione Laghi ferries reach every shore of the lake. Sirmione is 15 km away, Salò 25 km.

What makes Desenzano different
Desenzano is not the most romantic town on Lake Garda. It is the most practical — and on a lake where most towns are difficult to reach, that is a significant advantage.
The feature that sets Desenzano apart is its high-speed rail station. Frecciarossa and Frecciargento stop here on the Milan–Venice line. On a lakeside town, this fundamentally changes who can live here: commuters to Milan, remote workers who want lake-life quality without sacrificing city connectivity.
Historically, Desenzano is home to the Roman Villa (4th century AD), with floor mosaics covering over 250 sqm — among the most extensive in northern Italy. The Old Harbour, dating to Roman times, remains the heart of town social life. The lakefront nightlife is among the liveliest on the Brescia shore.
