How it's calculated

The Garda Score combines four components, each normalised to a 0–100 scale and then weighted:

Tourist pressure · 40%
Traffic · 25%
Seasonality · 20%
Weather · 15%

Data is collected three times a day (10:30, 13:00 and 18:00) and the day's score is the average of the readings. Pressure reflects each town's structural popularity; traffic uses real-time flow; seasonality accounts for month, day of week and Italian holidays; weather for how favourable conditions are.

Index estimated from public sources (OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, TomTom) for informational purposes. The 7-day average smooths daily fluctuations. · Gardalytics →
